Support for Communities

Working closely with the whole community including village elders, teachers and elected representatives of the women ensures that our work has the maximum impact for all. We hold regular meetings with specified groups or the whole village to stress that they are all central to any decisions made.

Parents are delighted that their children have access to a decent education and from the work we have already done in the communities we have developed a close relationship resulting in mutual trust.

The other ways we benefit the community are:

• Providing meeting areas after dark through the provision of solar powered lighting

• The provision of daily adult literacy classes

• Vocational training

• Providing a nurse once every two months to offer advice on any health concerns

• Use of the library for all outside school hours
